Does this OUTFIT make me look fat?

The changing seasons this time of year opens the door for a change of wardrobe for not only us but our pets as well.  Let’s face it.  Dressing up our dog is a fun thing to do and here are some tips for how to select the best dog apparel.

(1)   Safety is Key – Because of the danger of getting snagged, or the tendency of other dog to want to play “tug of war” with the dog apparel your dog may wear, you should never allow your pet to wear dog apparel unsupervised.

(2)   Features to Consider – Whether it’s for fun, or for comfort and safety, you’ll want to select dog apparel made from sturdy, lightweight fabrics that are easy to clean.

(3)    Skinny or Fat – Well-fitted apparel is loose at the neck, and stops at the elbow, and at the rib cage, to allow your dog maximum freedom of movement.

(4)   Have Fun

LOOK FOR US AT THE WELCOME SANTA PARADE!

On Sunday, November 29, 2009, the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 17th Annual WELCOME SANTA PARADE. We would love for anyone who has adopted a dog from us to please walk with us to show your support.  Also, make sure you check out our truck and foster parents; we just may have the dog you’ve been looking for.  Christmas attire is welcome.

YMCA Fall Fest was a Success

Thanks to everyone who stopped at our booth at the Ottawa YMCA Fall Fest last month.  Every opportunity we have to showcase these homeless dogs to the public is one more chance for them to find a new family. Thank you.

Foster Dog Of The Month

Jack Russell Terrier (Parson Russell Terrier) Picture

Mandie was a stray that ended up in our county pound. She is very quiet and calm, not at all a yapper. She does like to play with other dogs, but isn't too interested in playing human games. She would rather just sit in your lap and give you occasional kisses. She is mostly housebroken and crate trained. She loves to be outside with her family and follows her foster mom around the yard. Mandie is very willing to learn commands, and comes when called. We're guessing that she is approx 1 -2 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. She is a real sweetheart waiting for a home- could it be yours?
